Composite front door No one is getting through this number

With burglaries on the rise, but arrests falling, could new double glazed windows and composite front and back doors stop you becoming an unfortunate number?

New figures released by the Government show  Police Forces in England make just 14 arrests for every 100 burglaries. What is shocking is combining the figures from the Office of National Statistics that showed there were 392,341, recorded burglaries across England in 2014-15, Home Office figures reveal only 54,466 arrests were made.

Within Warwickshire and our typical areas of Leamington Spa, Coventry and Rugby of the 3,526 burglaries recorded by Warwickshire Police in 2014-15, figures show that only 374 cases led to an arrest.

Craig Smith, Director at Copperfield Windows said: “These figures are pretty shocking a suggests if you are burgled then forget gettting your valuables back. Windows and particularly front and back doors, are the primary route for break-ins. A dated door lock, or UPVC window with more security featues, deliver very little protection from burglars."

Copperfield Windows offers an extensive range of high security windows and doors, designed to keep even the most determined of burglars out. Some examples can be seen here

This includes the latest range of thermally efficient composite doors. With multi-point locking they feature the latest hardware and cutting edge innovation and are available in a Police approved Secured by Design (SBD) specification as standard. Delivering top performance under the Door Energy Ratings Scheme, they’ll also keep your home warmer, while emulating the appearance of a timber door but without the maintenance, they are also available in a wide variety of finishes, colours and glass options.

Craig adds: “A new generation of high security energy efficient PVC windows and doors, are delivering a far better performance than those of even just a few years ago. Criminals are always developing new techniques, at Copperfield Windows we work hard to make sure that we stay ahead of the game. We would encourage homeowners to check the condition of doors and windows, particularly after the winter months and if they are showing signs of wear and tear.”
